Here's a few more projects from this 2012 fall quarter. Most of the group projects really get people interacting with each other and generating exciting ideas that make each piece more interesting...plus it really helps to get to know each other.

Erms and Lags
These two weeks will be devoted to studying the proportions and anatomy of the arms and legs. Get familiar with how they work…look, feel, observe others and more importantly, experiment with your own. Really spend time thinking about how the muscles are attached and look at the values created when light is reflected off your skin, along with how the muscles move underneath.
Arms & Hands should be completed on Friday, at which time we'll begin Legs & Feet. Don't forget your web resource and 10 poses!

Wednesday Feb 15th
Final Project: Collaboration Comic
The basic storyline is we'll start off with an in classroom scene discussing what to do for a final project. From there, each student will create an 8" x 8" page that includes at least 3 panels. You can include more if you want to, but within these panels, you will portray yourself declaring your idea for what you would want to do for a project and then create the other scenes to be a visualization of that project. For example, Sarah said she wanted to create herself as an elf set in World of Warcraft, so she would portray herself proposing that idea, then illustrate the two other panels with that story.
The requirements for these illustrations are as follows:
8"x8" file size at 150 dpi
Must include figure, hands, feet, close up/portrait, & perspective
All three panels should be carefully planned out with regards to layout, readability, flow and interest.
Each individual scene should be dynamic with perspective...no straight on shots (like with everyone on a flat horizon line and eye level with each other. No two characters are to be the same size in the same scene...demonstrate the figure in space and using line of sight combined with perspective to achieve an interesting scene.
For Wednesday, bring:
- written ideas for your project
- at least 3 different layout concepts (panels only)
- lots of thumbnails. Sketch these out loosely and choose the best ones, don't just make one and be happy with it. Even if you think it's the best, make a couple more...analyze it and figure out what could make it better.A ballpark should be at least a page for each panel/scene.
- Final Scene in pencils. Wednesday will be spent inking and coloring in.
The following Wednesday will be spent compiling them together and printing. If you want to keep a printed version, bring your $10 of print coupons and we'll print out all of your work from the quarter for you to take with you.
For each character, refer to the clothing in the mugshot photos...we're trying to keep these somewhat similar in style, but for sure the character should look the same.
