Latest Work!

Here's a few more projects from this 2012 fall quarter. Most of the group projects really get people interacting with each other and generating exciting ideas that make each piece more interesting...plus it really helps to get to know each other.

So as we begin our final project, here are the main guidelines:

Must complete your character, a landscape, and remain within the following limitations -
- 11 x 17 format
- Include a foreground and background
- Include perspective/depth of field in the background
- Keep in mind the light sources (top left main and middle left reflective)
- Maintain your layers!
- Keep each character's focus or attack at an eye level.

- Create at LEAST 5 thumbnails for the landscape and character.
- Have something ready to scan in and get started on Friday May 11th.

Get your sketchbooks managed and have your blogs ready to show.

Photos for the Caricature Project

Alright, get to work! You need to bring with you nine line drawings to scan in and get going in painter for Friday, so choose which photo of each person you want to use (side or front view). The theme is fantasy creatures per the vote.

Erms and Lags

These two weeks will be devoted to studying the proportions and anatomy of the arms and legs. Get familiar with how they work…look, feel, observe others and more importantly, experiment with your own. Really spend time thinking about how the muscles are attached and look at the values created when light is reflected off your skin, along with how the muscles move underneath.

Arms & Hands should be completed on Friday, at which time we'll begin Legs & Feet. Don't forget your web resource and 10 poses!
